ನಮ್ಮ ಜಾಲತಾಣ 'ಇಜ್ಞಾನ ಡಾಟ್ ಕಾಮ್' ಹತ್ತನೆಯ ವರ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ ಪಾದಾರ್ಪಣೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಜ್ಞಾನ ದಿನ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು.

ಇ-ಕನ್ನಡ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ

೨೦೧೭ರ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಜ್ಞಾನ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಕನ್ನಡ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಸಹಯೋಗದಲ್ಲಿ 'ಇ-ಕನ್ನಡ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂವಾದ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿತ್ತು.

ರಾಜ್ಯ ಹಾಗೂ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಮಟ್ಟದ ಹಲವು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇಜ್ಞಾನ ತಂಡ ನಿಯಮಿತವಾಗಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ.

Kannada: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow

To provide a platform to discuss the status of Kannada language in the past, present and the future, Ejnana trust in association with Navakarnataka Publications conducted a seminar in Bengaluru on November 19, 2017. Noted scholars and Kannada writers Prof T V Venkatachala Shastry, Sri S Diwakar, Sri Vasudhendra, Dr Chintamani Kodlekere, Sri G M Krishnamurthy and Sri Manjunath Kollegala presented their thoughts in this seminar which had ‘Kannada: Ninne, Indu mattu Naale’ (Kannada: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow) as the theme.

18 books of Navakarnataka Publications’ ‘Kannada Kalike’ (Kannada Learning) series, authored by the trust’s president Sri T S Gopal were also unveiled on this occasion. Ejnana Trust also launched the ‘Kalikege Koduge’ (gift for learning) program, through which these books are being distributed free of cost to more than 150 schools across the state of Karnataka. As part of the launch event, about 40 sets were distributed to representatives of schools at the venue itself.

Ejnana Trust brings out a Technology Glossary

Ejnana Trust had, in September 2016, first proposed the idea of preparing a glossary of technology terms in Kannada. Intention of this proposal was to help technology enthusiasts, and students taking up competitive exams in Kannada medium. Kannada Abhivruddhi Pradhikara (Kannada Development Authority), Govt. of Karnataka kindly agreed to support this project and the work began in March 2017.

A team consisting of members from Ejnana Trust and Kannada Development Authority worked on this project, and ‘Computer-Tantrajnana Padavivarana Kosha’ (Computer - Technology Glossary) with explanation for more than 300 words was prepared in both print and digital versions. Chief minister of Karnataka Sri Siddaramaiah released the glossary in a function held at Vidhana Soudha on October 31, 2017.

In addition to the print version, the glossary is also available online through, a website created and maintained by Ejnana Trust. The content has been released under Creative Commons license (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) so that it can be used freely by anyone for non-commercial purposes. Bharatavani, an online knowledge portal promoted by the Govt. of India has already incorporated this glossary on its website under this license.

Kannada and IT: Program for UG Students

Ejnana Trust conducted a one-day training program for the degree students of Surana College, Nitturu Srinivasa Rao Road, Bengaluru on April 15, 2017 on the topic of ‘Information Technology and Kannada’.

Trust’s secretary Sri T G Srinidhi, along with Dr A Sathyanarayana conducted the classes during this program. The program introduced the basics of IT and Kannada to the students, and provided them an overview of the work being done in this field. The program was followed by a Q&A session.

Ejnana joins hands with GoK for e-Kannada Exhibition

Ejnana Trust, in collaboration with Karnataka Government’s Department of Kannada and Culture, organized a one-day expo at Bengaluru to showcase the work being done in Kannada in the field of IT. This event, which received enthusiastic response by both exhibitors and visitors, was appreciated and given wide coverage by media. The event was held on March 5, 2017 in the premises of Ravindra Kalakshetra, Bengaluru. More than 30 commercial entities, NGOs and individual contributors working for Kannada in the field of IT participated in the event.

Senior Kannada Journalist Sri Ravi Hegde was the chief guest of this program, which was presided over by Senior KAS Officer Sri K A Dayananda. A booklet giving an overview of the current state of Kannada and IT, authored by the trust’s secretary Sri T G Srinidhi, was released on this occasion. Both print and digital copies of this booklet have been made available for free distribution. Technology expert Sri Uday Shankar Puranik and veteran web journalist Sri S K Sham Sundar took part in the panel discussion conducted as part of this event and answered questions from the audience.
